More, more...and more

Speechless

Chaos once again. More blasts, more deaths, and more violence.

As two leaders of the very large religious majority parties killed alongside dozens others, Karachi, the city of lights, has turned into a mournful but violent battlefield. Hospitals being attacked, ambulances being ransacked, blood donors being threatened to help the victims, violence on the streets, attacks on certain neighborhoods because of their religious affiliation, more violence being spread....May God help this city, this country, this world.

The city is darkened, completely, and you can sense that this will escalate. Motorcycles are buzzing around, ambulances too, the decorations for the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal are all off, and the city is eerily sogwaar on the day of the birth of the Prophet (pbuh). Deaths of certain leaders are already spelling trouble. I hope this doesn't turn out to be another mini-Iraq for sunnis and shias for next few weeks. Army has already been dispatched within 15 mins after a call. Wherever the blames land and whoever they land upon, May Allah help the ones affected and may Allah grant patience to their dear ones.

Even though it all looks really dark, there is always a lasting hope. This song just talks about that very same fading glimmer of hope.

With all this, I question, do we have any right to argue with the international media's portrayal of us muslims/pakistanis as terrorists? Perhaps not until things change! I am sad. We all are.

  • Haven't got any idea what to say. Speechless as you say it. I also wonder at the attacks after the actual bomb attack. Were they just normal people angered into doing it? But no one is going to tell us. Who were those suicide bombers? Why did they do it? And since I am not going to know, how can I say if the some 'foreign' elements are doing it as some people are quick to point out. Or its someone inside. And thats what saddens me most of all. Its going to become just another blast in the long history of sectarian strife. Just another blast.

  • We're going the opposite way of where the Prophet (pbuh) wanted us to go. He taught us love, compassion, and peace and looks like those teachings are lost forever. Muslims are killing Muslims, is this what we want? No. Why can't these people understand? Are the current cirumstances creating these people? Or are they doing it for their own gain? I am speechless. May Allah bless those who were affected by this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

  • hira - none of the average will ever know the culprits behind the attacks, it seems. Further attacks were plain brutal. Ambulances, hospitals, blood donors...none were spared from their jahiliyyat. Don't people think before attacking the ambulances and blood donors that they could be one of the victims also? Don't they have any sort of insaniyat in them? More than the government or religous/political parties, it's people's mentality that exaggerates such incidents. I hope we could do something about it.

hasan - i second your comment. Moreover, i think gains are just personal without considering an iota of sympathy for other people.

    moin syed - thanks:)
